What color (and gen.) would you have your GT3?
![]() 07/03/2016 at 22:53 |

991 GT3 RS in Ultraviolet.

I second that motion. I do like that classic green as well, though. Also pink.
So one of each.

Really mines the same as Scoob.

Scoob has made the correct decision.

A 997 GT3 RS in Atlas Grey w/ black accents. I’m over flashy colour’s, I’m all for subtle colour’s now.

997 GT3RS 4.0 in the only livery that should be allowed.

Wow, I just changed my mind.

I like that. I drive a grabber blue mustang every day, so flashy colors don’t bother me. I do like the black on gray though. That looks so subtle and stealthy.

people, people, people... the only proper color for a GT3 is yellow
![]() 07/03/2016 at 23:30 |

996. Yellow.
![]() 07/03/2016 at 23:30 |

The 997 Pre-Facelift in bright orange if I “had” to pick a GT3. That said, I would prefer a 993 GT2 in explosive green.

I don't think 996 GT3s had the IMS issue...it's a different motor

wait wait wait wait
997 PRE??? facelift
I've never heard anyone say that ever
![]() 07/03/2016 at 23:57 |

Huh, you are right, the IMS is exclusive to the M96 and M97 engine.

Yes, but why would you repaint a car that as is is worth like twice MSRP (or more)?
If I were to go Mexico Blue (They call it Miami Blue now) I’d just PTS a 991 RS...

I like the less blingy headlights.

I know the new ones are faster and better, but I can’t help but want this more than the rest.

Almost.

Asking the tough questions I see lol. Black looks good, but for me it would have to be something along the lines of an HRE P40 in bright sliver.
I try to stray from the “CSL style” of wheel every time I look for a new set. The problem is that those wheels look awesome on 90% of cars, and 99.9% of German sports cars.

Yeah, I’m also not a huge fan of black wheels - too hard to see the details of the wheel. That’s a beautiful wheel, and if you can afford a GT3, I guess you can afford HREs - ha! I’ve got an E90 M3, and I’m looking forward to the day that I can get a set of ZCPs for it. But it is a tough choice: the comp. package wheels look so good, but a nice set of APEX wheels would be lighter, wider and cheaper.
![]() 07/05/2016 at 12:29 |
|
I’ll take that.

Yea I reluctantly went with black over silver on my winter set for the Audi (to keep OEM fitment). I like the wheels to “pop”, which is hard to do with dark wheels.
I’ve got a set of CSL knock offs on the E46 that look fantastic, but they’re heavy.
+1 on Apex, they don’t look bad either. I wanted to go bigger/wider on the E90 when I had it, but PSS on the stock 18's were expensive enough to deter me from doing so. I replaced the rears twice in 18000 miles!

I think eventually I might end up with an 18x10 square set on my car, seems like a lot of people run that and like it. Tire costs are definitely not fun to pay with these sizes and good rubber!
